Job Description – SAP / Functional QE Lead

Work Mode: Work from Office (5 days a week)

Role Overview

We are looking for SAP / Functional QE Leads to lead functional testing for SAP S/4HANA business processes. The candidates will work with business and SAP teams to understand requirements, prepare test scenarios, coordinate test execution, manage defects, and support releases and deployment waves.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional testing for SAP S/4HANA business processes and related applications.
• Understand business requirements, process flows, and functional specifications and convert them into test scenarios and test cases.
• Plan and coordinate functional, end-to-end, integration, regression, and release testing.
• Work with SAP functional consultants, business users, developers, and automation teams to clarify requirements and test expected results.
• Prepare and maintain test cases, test data, traceability, execution evidence, and defect details.
• Coordinate test execution across releases, deployment waves, and store/location configurations where applicable.
• Validate end-to-end business flows across SAP modules and connected systems.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), business testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Log, track, retest, and help resolve defects; provide clear status, risks, and test progress updates.
• Identify regression coverage and opportunities to improve test reuse and reduce repeated manual effort.
• Work with automation engineers to identify suitable scenarios for automation and validate automated results.
• Prepare test status reports and contribute to release-readiness discussions.

Mandatory Skills

• 8+ years of experience in software testing / Quality Engineering, with strong SAP functional testing experience.
• Good understanding of SAP S/4HANA business processes and end-to-end testing.
• Experience in test scenario and test case design, test execution, defect management, and regression testing.
• Ability to review business requirements and functional specifications and identify test conditions, positive/negative scenarios, and edge cases.
• Experience coordinating with business users, SAP functional teams, developers, and other testing teams.
• Good analytical, communication, documentation, and coordination skills.

SAP Workstream Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is required or preferred. Candidates do not need to have expertise in every workstream.

• OTC – Order-to-Cash
• RTR – Record-to-Report
• VIM – Vendor Invoice Management
• SAC – SAP Analytics Cloud
• STP – Source-to-Pay
• WHS – Warehouse

Good to Have

• Experience with SAP Fiori and web-based SAP applications.
• Exposure to Tricentis Tosca, Playwright, or other test automation tools.
• Experience with store/location configuration testing, deployment waves, or multi-location rollouts.
• Experience with SAP and non-SAP integration testing, APIs, and data validation.
• Exposure to test management tools such as qTest, Jira, or similar tools.
• Experience with dashboards, test metrics, traceability, and release-readiness reporting.
• Exposure to AI-assisted testing or AI-based test case generation.
